Pamper evenings almost sold out

Due to the huge popularity of these evenings there are now only two spaces left in 2016 – on the 30th December session.

If you missed out don’t worry too much, from January 2017 these will be a regular monthly feature and we’re even looking at running two a month. Keep an eye out on the Facebook page or sign up to the newsletter and I’ll post an update as soon as the dates are finalised.

Remember, you can also now purchase gift vouchers for the pamper evenings, so if you know someone who’d love an evening swimming, enjoying the Russian Baths and then being treated to a relaxing massage pick up a voucher at Bramley Baths Reception.

Even more therapy goodness at Ebor Sulis

Things have been busy behind the scenes here at Ebor Sulis, there’s lots of new things to tell you about so read on to see what extra therapies and offers you can take advantage of this autumn.

New Treatment – Reflexology

From Tuesday 13th September, Fiona Knowles will be working at the clinic to provide amazing reflexology treatments. Fiona is a registered nurse and has been a qualified reflexologist since 1995 and I’m thrilled to welcome her to the Ebor Sulis clinic.

Fiona will be available every Tuesday and for those who’ve never had a reflexology treatment I highly recommend the experience – it’s a fascinating and relaxing therapy. You can learn more about what it entails on Fiona’s website.

The Pamper Sessions Return

The summer’s pamper sessions proved to be a real hit, so due to demand we’ve confirmed four more dates for the rest of the year. As of 2017, we’re hoping to run these twice a month. For just £15 you get a swim, steam and 20 minute massage, these need to be booked directly through Bramley Baths reception as time slots for the massage are allocated on booking. The dates you need to know are:

Friday 23rd September

Friday 28th October

Friday 25th November

Friday 30th December

What’s more you can now purchase gift vouchers solely for the pamper sessions so if you’re looking for birthday or, dare I say Christmas gift, these are ideal. Contact Bramley Baths on 0113 256 0949 or email hello@bramleybaths.com to book and purchase.

Wake up! sports massage sessions

Early morning swim sessions are popular at the Baths – especially for our Tri BB club, so to help keep muscles in top condition a new dedicated sports massage clinic will be running each Thursday morning from the 15th September. There are four 30 minute slots available each week between 7.30am and 9.30am so booking is advised. Book directly on 07845798674, email eborsulis@gmail.com or use the book an appointment option on the site.

The summer holidays can be a busy and challenging time, keeping the kids occupied, day trips here and there, cursing the wet British summer, and things can get tense. The new pamper sessions give adults the chance to reclaim some time, destress and re-charge those much needed batteries. So, whether you’re a parent, babysitter, teacher or other stressed-out human come and bask in the beautiful surroundings of the Edwardian baths, Russian Steam Room and calming massage therapy clinic.

Treat yourself this summer, bookings are now open via Bramley Baths reception, email hello@bramleybaths.com or call 0113 256 0949.

Tri Adventures…Back in the pool

Triathlon at Bramley Baths
This morning, after six weeks out of the pool, I plunged back in with an early morning swim at the Baths in the hope of getting a little preparation in before Tri BB Class tomorrow night.

Ebor Sulis is 1 today – Hip hip horray!

Exactly one year ago the clinic opened its doors and put a disused and hidden gem in Bramley back into use within a thriving social enterprise. Here’s how it happened.

New exercise adventures in BB Tri club

Kettlercise in Leeds

For the time being I’m out of the pool, which means I’m looking for other ways to increase my fitness and endurance and keep up the training. Whilst getting out running or cycling would be the obvious choice, I’ve still not taken my bike to be looked at and running fills me with a hefty slice of dread every time I think about it. Where does the name Ebor Sulis come from?

I’m asked quite often where the name for my clinic came from. Ebor Sulis doesn’t automatically scream massage therapy at you but there is some method behind all the madness. Continue reading Where does the name Ebor Sulis come from?

On yer bike…the Tri Training Continues

BB Tri Club

It’s been a month since I first blogged about starting at the Bramley Baths Tri Club and almost three since I started full stop. As the lighter nights start to come in the focus is shifting from the pool to getting outdoors and working on the other two triathlon elements: running and cycling. Talking Therapy – don’t suffer painful massages

massage therapy Leeds

I’ve often had people tell me they’ve had really painful massages in the past and I always say the same thing to them: did you tell your therapist? The answer is, invariably, no. Whilst incessant chatter during a massage can be detrimental, telling your therapist whether the pressure is too much or too little, or if a particular area is significantly more painful than another is a vital part of a successful treatment.
